Mary Tomlinson - Membership Chair

Mary Tomlinson was born in Holland and moved to Canada in 1950. Her family landed in Halifax NS where they were sponsored by a farmer in Elmvale Ontario. They worked on the farm for two years. She attended Barrie North and Central Collegiate and got her first job at Walkers General Clothing store in Barrie at $3.50 per hour. Many years & jobs later, she started her 35 year career at Federal Express in Mississauga where she worked as a Manager in Customer Service, Customs and Duties & Taxes. She retired in 2006 and moved to Bobcaygeon where she enjoyed 10 years with her husband before losing him to cancer. Mary has a sewing business and enjoys seeing her customers every day. She has 3 children and 3 grandsons who are all grown and enjoys the company of her dog, Gizmo. She is an active member of the Bobcaygeon United Church where she serves on several committees. She has been an active member of the Bobcaygeon Seniors Club and was President for several years. She enjoys her summer trips on her motorcycle to various places such as Newfoundland, New Orleans, Key West and many more over the years.
